The Decemberists revealed as Boston Calling mystery band
When the Boston Calling music festival revealed its spring 2014 lineup earlier this year, one name was noticeably cryptic: a mystery guest slated for stage time on May 24.
Crypticism, be gone. The folks at Crash Line Productions revealed this morning that indie-folk rockers The Decemberists will fill the previously unnamed slot. It’ll be the group’s first performance since Jan. 2011.
The Portland, Ore.-based group had hits with “Down By the Water’’ and “This is Why We Fight.’’ Check out their 2011 album, “The King is Dead,’’ for more tracks.
Boston Calling will span three days this year (after a pair of 2-day festivals in 2013), from May 23-25 on City Hall Plaza. Other acts include Jack Johnson (May 23), Death Cab for Cutie (May 24), and Modest Mouse (May 25). Single day tickets go on sale March 20.
Head to the Boston Calling website for full lineup and ticket information.
