Is ‘Black Mass’ Filming on the Common Today?

Early Wednesday morning, a film crew was spotted shooting on the Boston Common.

While we aren’t sure what project is being worked on, some people on social media seem to think that it’s the upcoming Whitey Bulger flick “Black Mass,’’ starring Johnny Depp.

A vehicle sporting the logo of the New York Police Department was seen near the film crew, which may be an interesting clue, as Bulger absconded to New York City – as well as many other places – after fleeing from Boston in 1994.
