A month ago, John Oliver bought ads on cable news broadcasts in the DC area starring a catheter-wearing cowboy who explained complicated issues to President Donald Trump in easy-to-understand terms.
Now, following the introduction of the American Health Care Act, Oliver brought the cowboy back for an ad set to air during Fox and Friends about the health care bill.
In Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, Oliver showed a clip of Trump calling health care “unbelievably complex” and a tweet from the president demonstrating that he learns about people’s health care bill concerns by watching Fox and Friends.
Later in the segment, Oliver said that someone must make clear to the president that many of his campaign promises about health care aren’t included in the bill.
“Someone needs to explain this to him,” Oliver said, before flashing an image of the catheter cowboy. “And since he’s clearly still watching Fox and Friends, we might actually be able to help here.”
