Pretty, pretty, pretty good news.

HBO announced in a press release Tuesday afternoon that Curb Your Enthusiasm, the award-winning comedy created by and starring Seinfeld creator Larry David, will return to the network for a ninth season after a five-year hiatus.

Curb, which debuted in 2000, stars David as an exaggerated version of himself as he attempts to navigate his post-Seinfeld life in Los Angeles.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said president of HBO programming Casey Bloys in the release.

Asked why he decided to bring Curb back to television after a lengthy absence, David said in the release, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

“Did nothing” might be a bit of an overstatement. In the past year, David has reminded viewers of his comedic talent with appearances on Saturday Night Live, both as a host and in cameo roles as Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
