Comedian Bo Burnham showed no fear last night at a show in Atlanta when a heckler climbed onto the stage, and the audience and headliner had a good laugh at his expense.
Burnham, a North Shore native, is currently on his Make Happy Tour 2015, previously appeared in short-lived MTV series Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous and in promotional material for Judd Apatow’s Funny People.
“Let’s work together on getting you off the stage and into a stable family, maybe,” he said. “Maybe wringing out that ponytail and greasing you out the door?”
Burnham proceeded to call the man towards him, all while giving his own bodyguard Larry a healthy dose of reality.
“Larry, this is you f***ing up,” he joked, gesturing at the stage troll. “This is you not doing your job in human form.”
In a final bout of non-sympathy, Bo turned back to Brian the stage crasher. “You’re gentle, you’re lost, I wish you the best, I really kind of want you to kind of kill yourself, but in theory I wish you the best.”
As the heckler left the theater, Burnham continued to bully him out the door and made a crack about the heckler shooting him in the head at a hotel later “like (they did to) John Lennon.”
“Too late for the John Lennon jokes?” he asked the crowd. “That is one of the weirdest things that has ever happened.”
