Johnny Depp’s Yorkies vs. the Australian government: The saga continues
How mind-boggling has the battle gotten between Johnny Depp’s Yorkies and the Australian government?
On Monday, an Australian senate committee heard that Depp could face up to 10 years in jail or a maximum fine of AU$340,000 ($263,000) if the case is taken to court, The Guardian reports.
Earlier this month, Depp, who stars as infamous Boston mobster Whitey Bulger in the upcoming movie Black Mass, brought his dogs, Pistol and Boo, to the country in his private jet without declaring them, breaking Australian quarantine laws.
Officials have called the case “very serious,’’ according to The Guardian.
Upon the discovery they had entered the country illegally, Australian Department of Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce threatened to have Depp’s terriers euthanized. He was promptly put down himself by HBO’s John Oliver.

The two dogs have since returned to California with Depp’s wife.
Fortunately for Bostonians, however Depp’s case is or is not resolved, Black Mass has already been filmed.
