New Kid Joey McIntyre’s Mother Has Died
Needham native Joey McIntyre, of New Kids on the Block Fame, lost his mother to Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, Nov. 30.
Katherine Bowen McIntyre was born in 1931.
McIntyre announced the news to his fans on Instagram, posting a picture of his mother with his son, Griffin.

“In her final months and days she was at peace,’’ McIntyre wrote.
“She’d laugh and smile and hold hands and hug. The last few years there was just love and sweetness. She had a strong abiding faith in her God. And I am a product of that faith.’’
McIntyre is apparently a chip off the old block. He wrote that his mother liked to write and sing.
