Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka Wed in Italy

“How I Met Your Mother’’ star and Tony Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris tied the knot with longtime partner David Burtka in Italy over the weekend.
Harris announced the nuptials with a photo at what looks like sunset via Twitter early Monday morning.

The pair are parents to twins Gideon and Harper, pictured below, born Oct. 12, 2011.

Burtka and Harris used an anonymous egg donor and “an amazing surrogate who had helped a same-sex couple before,’’ while trying for a baby, according to a People magazine interview.
Fellow television actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who married Justin Mikita on July 21, 2013, welcomed the couple to the “married club’’ this morning.
