Concept cars at the LA Auto Show

It’s the year of the electric car at the LA Auto Show, which runs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 9. Check out some of the more experimental, green vehicles that caught out eyes. Several of these concept cars had their world or North American debut at the LA Auto Show.

Nissan Hi-Cross

The Hi-Cross had its North American debut at the LA Auto Show. It has a hybrid drivertrain with lithium-ion battery technology and 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Its design is “dramatic and athletic, yet completely purposeful,’’ according to the company. It has a V-shaped grille and tapered LED headlamps.

Chevrolet Tru 140S Concept

The Tru 140S is a four-seat sporty coupe with front-wheel-drive and a three-door hatchback design. This car is based on the the same platform as the Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Cruze, according to the company. It has Chevrolet performance chrome wheels.

BMW i8 Spyder Plug-in Hybrid

The i8 Spyder Plug-in Hybrid combines a modified electric drive system with a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine. It can drive about 20 miles on electric power alone, according to BMW. The i8 Spyder Plug-in Hybrid is a two-seater. It had its North American debut at the LA Auto Show.

Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept

The LF-LC is a premium sport coupe with rear-wheel-drive and the Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive. It has a glass roof with a lightweight, cantilevered pillar. This concept car’s spindle grille has a mesh pattern and functional air intakes at its bottom corners. The LF-LC had its North American debut at the LA Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force Concept

The Ener-G-Force was originally developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge based on the design of a future police car. It has its world debut at the LA Auto Show. It has a hydro-tech converter that turns natural elements into hydrogen for operating the fuel cells, according to the company.

Chevrolet Code 130R

The Code 130R is a four-seat coupe with rear-wheel-drive and a turbocharged engine that works in tandem with eAssist technology. This red car has matte anodized gold wheels.

Infiniti LE Concept

The LE Concept is a five-seat sedan that produces zero emissions. Its charging system is hands-free, requiring no plugs or cables. The LE has an intelligent park assist system that helps it fit into tight spots.

Lexus LF-CC Concept

The LF-CC is a mid-size coupe concept with rear-wheel-drive and a 2.5-liter full hybrid powertrain. Its exterior color is described as “fluid titanium,’’ while its interior features warmer, softer finishes.

Acura NSX Concept

The NSX concept features Acura’s new sport hybrid super handling all-wheel-drive system and super car acceleration. Its purpose, according to the company, is to “create the perfect synergy between man and machine.’’ The NSX concept is pictured at the Beijing Motor Show.
