Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties are under a flood watch from noon Monday until midnight Tuesday.
“Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible,” stated the National Weather Service’s flood watch announcement early Monday.
The storms impacting western Massachusetts and Connecticut could bring brief strong to damaging winds on Monday.
The weather service said, “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” with the potential for creeks and streams to rise out of their banks.
