Thursday will feature some early light snow ahead of a plunge in temperatures by Friday.

Forecasters are calling for ocean effect snow showers across coastal locations Thursday morning, especially the South Shore, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy and highs will make it into the 30s in many locations.

Temperatures will plummet overnight, and Friday will be frigid — with wind-chills possibly falling below zero.
