The Boston region is in for a soggy Thanksgiving Day.

Morning showers could turn to periods of heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms through the afternoon, according to forecasters. Temperatures will be in the 50s across much of the region.

Rain tapers off at night ahead of a dry, pleasant day on Friday.
