A gray and, at times, wet day is ahead on Wednesday for the Boston region.

Forecasters expect cloudy skies with scattered showers possible throughout the day. It will feel a bit muggier than it has in recent days, and temperatures will be in the 70s.

Looking ahead, summer-like weather returns on Thursday and Friday with warmer temperatures and higher humidity.
