Here’s what to expect from Friday’s weather forecast

Afternoon rain and a chance for snow in some areas at night.

The Boston area is in for a gray, wet Friday. Expect a cloudy start to the day with rain showers arriving during the afternoon. High temperatures in most areas will make it into the mid 40s.

The rain continues Friday night, and there is the potential for a changeover to snow, particularly for Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, where up to two inches of snow could fall. There’s a slight chance some parts of eastern Massachusetts could see a dusting, too.
