Here’s David Epstein’s weekend weather forecast
Heading to the beach either Saturday or Sunday is a great idea.
It’s hard to believe this is the final weekend of July. It’s also the final weekend when the sunset will be at 8 p.m. or later on Saturday and Sunday. Starting next Sunday, the sun will set at 7:58 p.m. in Boston, then it will continue to get earlier.
But it’s not August just yet, and the final weekend of July will be quite summery. The next few days will feature a lot of sunshine and very warm temperatures as well as a bit of a break from the extreme humidity. It’s not going to be dry, though.
Here’s the day-by-day weather forecast for this weekend:
Friday:
Mostly sunny skies could yield to a brief shower or two on Friday. High temperatures during the afternoon will near 90 degrees inland.

Temperatures will near 90 inland Friday afternoon.
Saturday:
Temperatures Saturday will be in the 80s. There is a chance for a round of showers and thunderstorms in the middle part of the day, but most of us will not see much in the way of precipitation. I wouldn’t cancel any plans, and heading to the beach on Saturday or Sunday is a great idea.

There could be a brief shower Saturday in spite of mainly sunny skies.
Sunday:
Temperatures Sunday will be in the 80s. I expect more sunshine on Sunday because I don’t see any chance of showers that day.
Tides will be high from noon to 2 p.m. throughout the weekend. Water temperatures have also warmed well into the 60s and lower 70s because we’re nearing the peak warmth of the entire year.

Sunday will be a nice beach day.
Next week brings more humidity, scattered showers, and thunderstorms but plenty of dry periods, too.
