No rain is in the forecast here this weekend and well into next week. While we’re enjoying stunning sunshine, Hurricane Harvey continues to impact the Texas coast. This storm will create major issues for that part of Texas and could impact energy prices if the worst is realized.

Friday’s highs will reach the 70s

The sun is still strong, about what we’d find in April. Nevertheless, if you are in the shade Friday, you’ll likely feel the coolness in the air. Highs will reach the 70s everywhere, but 80 will be tough to reach. Humidity continues low, and temperatures overnight will fall to cool readings.

Lows Saturday will reach the 40s in some cool spots.

Saturday will be sunny

We’ve had a lot of Saturdays this summer with clouds and tricky forecasts. This weekend Saturday and Sunday are basically the same with plenty of sunshine and highs in the 70s. It will feel nice in the sun, but you’ll notice a touch of fall early in the morning and later in the evening. If you are headed out after sunset, it’s time to grab a light jacket.

Temperatures will be cool for late August this weekend. Sunday’s highs are similar.

Drier with more sunshine Sunday

Sunday is essentially a carbon copy of Saturday in both sky condition — lots of sunshine — and temperatures — highs in the mid-70s. Beachgoers may feel a bit cool with an onshore wind keeping readings quite chilly right at the water. The lack of humidity means when you come out of the water it will feel very cool until you dry off.

Clear skies for many days

This pattern looks to continue well into next week. Whether it lasts into Labor Day weekend or not is still a question, but it very well could. More on this next week.
