Some rain Monday and Tuesday clouds an otherwise idyllic week of summer weather
Don’t put away your umbrella just yet: The Boston area will likely see a bit more rain early this week before returning to picturesque conditions for the rest of the week.
Alan Dunham, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Taunton, said Monday morning will be nice — sunny with high temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s — following another cool night.
The rain, however, returns Monday afternoon, mainly after 1 p.m. Dunham said to expect showers through Monday night, adding there’s a 50 percent chance the rain continues into the Tuesday morning commute.

But after that, Dunham said the rest of the week is “looking good.”
Rain is expected to taper off before 1 p.m. Tuesday, with cloudy skies gradually becoming mostly sunny, according to the service’s forecast. Tuesday’s high will be near 76 degrees, with northerly winds of 6 to 8 miles per hour.
Wednesday through Saturday will bring high temperatures peaking in the high 70s to low 80s with a very minimal chance of precipitation, according to the service.
