This weekend our weather will feature high pressure, a warm front and a cold front. On Friday, high pressure offers us a beauty of a day with sunshine, light winds and pleasant temperatures around 60 degrees. On Saturday, we will still be under the influence of the same high, so there will be plenty of sunshine, but it’s going to be a bit warmer with a southerly flow. Highs will reach the mid-60s and you’ll also notice some clouds showing up later in the day.A warm front passes through Saturday night and brings a chance of a few showers and even a thunderstorm. I don’t expect anything major, but you might need to bring an umbrella late at night.Sunday is a warm and mainly sunny day with highs in the 70s and lower 80s — another day of summer temperatures in April.Monday is cooler, but still warm. It will be a nice day to watch the Boston Marathon.

If you are celebrating Easter this Sunday…

Sunday is a summer-like day with temperatures starting in the 50s at sunrise, but ending up in the lower 80s for many. Across Cape Cod and Cape Ann it will be cooler, but look for a lot of sunshine.

Highs will reach the 80s on Sunday.

If you’re hitting the roads this weekend…

The only chance of showers comes overnight Saturday, so if you are traveling or heading out, be aware of those showers. Sunday is a dry day with a chance of a brief overnight sprinkle, but any rain will end Monday morning.

If you’re heading to Logan airport…

A few rain showers in the northeast Saturday night is all of the inclement weather most of the country will see this weekend. A big storm may affect the west coast early next week.

If you’re going skiing…

You can ski Easter weekend and also during the start of spring break. Saturday is a better day for hitting the slopes.

If you’re playing any field games or golf…

After many days of dry weather, I expect great field conditions Saturday. Overnight showers will leave some playing surfaces wet early Sunday, but they should quickly improve during the morning.

If you’re going hiking or running…

Saturday is a better day for strenuous activities because of more comfortable temperatures. Sunday is pleasant early, but quite warm in the afternoon.

Saturday will be a comfortable spring day.

If you’re gardening …

There’s plenty of time left to put down spring products on your lawn and in your garden. It’s also a great time to plant. I would not put down grass seed until late this month or early May as the soil is still cool. Hold off on warm weather plantings.I will be updating the forecast on Twitter @growingwisdom throughout the weekend.
