Weekend weather: What you need to know for every activity you have planned
The theme: Back to cooler temperatures.
After a 70-degree day earlier this week, get ready for a weekend temperature pattern that will be significantly chillier. High pressure will take control, and because it’s of Canadian origin, expect colder air.
A weak weather system on Saturday may mean a shower or two, mostly north of the Mass Turnpike, but any showers would be light.
Also of note: It’s the first full weekend of November, and we’re returning to standard time. Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to sleep Saturday night!
If you are going hiking, biking, or running…
Dry conditions are great for any active afternoon. Runners will need warmer weather gear for hands and head early, but lighter stuff in the afternoon will be fine.
If you’re playing soccer, softball, football, or golf…
Both weekend mornings will feature chilly conditions. Look for wet grass early where the temperatures remain above freezing.

Temperatures Saturday will reach the lower 50s across the area.
If you’re skiing…
Call ahead before heading to ski areas. Most aren’t open yet, but this weekend’s chill could get the snow guns going.
If you’re raking and gardening…
Winds won’t be enough of a factor to hamper leaf raking, but do expect cold mornings and chilly afternoons if you’re out in the yard. FYI, local nurseries still have some stock on sale.

Temperatures Sunday will be very similar to those on Saturday afternoon.
If you’re running errands…
Either day is going to be dry and sunny.
If you’re going to a concert, outdoor party, or wedding…
You’ll have the weather’s full cooperation this weekend. That said, shady areas will be cool, especially Saturday.
I will be updating the forecast on Twitter @growingwisdom throughout the weekend.
