A mother was driving her two young daughters on Route 111 in Hudson, N.H., this morning when a flying sheet of ice shattered their windshield.

Police said the large sheet of ice flew into the windshield of the Volvo wagon Saturday morning. Lisa Beauchemin, 35, and her two daughters were in the Volvo when the ice struck their windshield, “almost penetrating the passenger’s compartment,’’ said police.

Beauchemin and her daughters were uninjured despite being showered with broken glass. Police said the ice slid off a white van that did not stop. No plate number or identifying features were reported.

“The Hudson Police would like to remind the public to clean off all snow and ice from their vehicles after snow storms,’’ police said.
