Final town-by-town snow totals: Here’s what fell in Mass. during the Feb. 23 blizzard

The three-foot mark was met, and in at least one case surpassed, when the dust cleared from the monster nor’easter that affected much of the Northeast, according to National Weather Service snow totals released Tuesday morning.

Cities and towns in Barnstable, Bristol, and Plymouth counties were hit hardest, according to the NWS. NWS data showed 36 inches in Somerset, Kingston, and Lakeville, and Bliss Corner in the town of Dartmouth nudged just past them with 37 inches in its reading at 8 p.m. Monday night.

Meteorologists had predicted between 18 and 24 inches of snow, with the heaviest snowfall ending mid-day Monday. The heavy, wet snow and high winds affected trees and power lines, leading to outages. In addition to the Cape, Southeastern Massachusetts saw some of the more significant impacts.

Note: Totals listed below were the most recent ones posted by National Weather Service as of 11:16 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. Not all locations had updated their snow totals by that point.
