Parts of Massachusetts could see some wintry weather this week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting that snow showers will impact areas largely along the coast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
“Snow accumulations of a dusting to less than 1 inch are expected for most locations,” forecasters wrote on Tuesday. “However… a very narrow swath may see localized 2-3″ snow amounts with a low risk for up to 4”.”
Below, what local forecasters are saying so far about the potential snowfall.
The risk of light snow❄️increases tonight as ocean-effect showers return to eastern MA, particularly SE MA. The best chance of seeing 2+ inches of snow is along the south shore and, to a lesser extent, the north shore of MA. Visit https://t.co/aqcnsXtpuk for the latest. pic.twitter.com/5uHLNnpkcw

Many, but not all areas see grassy coatings up to an inch in spots. There is a smaller risk of +1" for isolated areas, especially in Plymouth county. pic.twitter.com/4uQYxzH2IZ

A LITTLE SNOW…

Coming tonight- midday Wednesday with ocean-enhanced snow showers developing. A more persistent band of snow may set up along the South Shore back to I-95 allowing for 1-2" of accumulation. Elsewhere, I expect just patchy coating to <1" of snow. #WCVB pic.twitter.com/S0yHdL7jwu
The combination of an incoming disturbance aloft + ocean moisture will create ocean-enhanced snow showers Tuesday night into Wednesday that will likely deliver the first AM commute snow-related slick spots in Eastern MA this season. The first snow for many in Eastern Mass! ❄️

No more than a coating for most, but a couple inches are possible away from the immediate coastline in Plymouth County. May be an isolated 3" jackpot too. Snowfall wraps up around lunchtime. pic.twitter.com/Two1UKI1Eg
