SNOW MAPS:

After such a warm day on Friday, it’s hard to believe snow is set to fall on Saturday, but that’s New England weather for you.

The National Weather Service predicts a “minor event” that starts with snow Saturday afternoon, then turns to a “wintry mix” and rain that night. Between 1 to 3 inches of precipitation is forecast.

“Precipitation changes to mainly sleet and light freezing rain across the interior and rain along the coast by Sat evening,” the service said on Twitter. “1 to 5 inches of snow/sleet expected with higher amounts near the NH border.”

Here’s what other local forecasters are saying about the snow:

David Epstein: ‘Snow tomorrow afternoon-evening changes to sleet-fr.rain and rain’

Matt Noyes, NBC10 Boston: ‘By lunch hour, snow, mix and rain will be expanding northeast’

Jacob Wycloff, WBZ: ‘The weather whiplash is in full-effect the next two days’

Kelly Ann Cicalese, WCVB: ‘Heaviest snow expected along & north of route 2, where near 6 inches is possible’

Shiri Spear, Boston 25: ‘The storm won’t be a blockbuster, but it will mess up your last minute shopping plans’
