Massachusetts is in for some snowy weather this weekend.
Meteorologists are predicting the Bay State will see a few inches of accumulating snow and ice on Saturday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting that light snow will begin in the morning and change over to sleet and freezing rain by Saturday night, potentially causing some impacts to travel through the evening.
“The heaviest of the precipitation will occur Saturday afternoon and evening,” the service said.
The coast is expected to mostly see rain, but interior parts of Massachusetts could see between 1 to 5 inches of snow or sleet, according to the service.
[Sat & Sat night] Snow/sleet overspread the region Sat am into early afternoon. Precipitation changes to mainly sleet and light freezing rain across the interior and rain along the coast by Sat evening. 1 to 5 inches of snow/sleet expected with higher amounts near the NH border. pic.twitter.com/3Ottmgcaqx

That coating to a couple inches is for snow. We'll get some sleet and freezing rain on top of it, especially deeper inland. That'll keep roads slick through the evening. Highest chance for 6" of snow is north of MA/NH border. pic.twitter.com/Mdby8a04Af
