Massachusetts is in for more heat on Tuesday, with forecasters warning residents to be wary of the “dangerous” temperatures that will blanket much of the state over several days.
Temperatures climbed into the mid-90s for much of Massachusetts on Monday, and the National Weather Service is predicting it will feel even hotter on Tuesday.
“Heat indices rise to between 95 and 100+ degrees for the next few afternoons,” service forecasters said Monday morning. “The most intense heat will occur on Tuesday afternoon, however, conditions will still be dangerous for those working outdoors for prolonged periods of time this afternoon.”

The “elevated” heat and humidity is forecast to continue through Wednesday, and the weather service has issued a heat advisory for much of the state. Boston has declared a heat emergency through Wednesday and is “urging residents and visitors to be safe and stay cool” until the high temperatures dissipate.
The worst of the heat will be Tuesday and Wednesday, when the high temperatures are forecast to break with showers and thunderstorms with cooler and less humid weather expected to round out the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Boston averages 6 days in the 90s each July. We're up to 9 so far this month with a chance to add in each of these next 3 days before the cooldown
