Forecasters are warning that an autumn nor’easter will bring heavy rain, flooding, and potentially damaging winds to Massachusetts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The National Weather Service said after an initial round of rainfall early Tuesday, the precipitation is expected to end briefly.
But conditions from the coastal storm are expected to deteriorate starting Tuesday afternoon, with the peak impacts predicted to occur Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The strongest winds are expected to occur overnight.
The service has issued a high wind warning for Cape Cod and the coast, and a flood watch remains in effect for most of the region.
“Wind remains the greatest concern with this event,” service forecasters said.
Parts of Massachusetts could see gusts between 50 and 75 mph, between 2 and 4 inches of rain, and 20-foot waves from the storm.
