Isolated “strong to severe” thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and hail Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of Massachusetts, as well as northern Rhode Island.

“The main threat with any stronger storms are damaging wind gusts, isolated hail and heavy downpours which may lead to localized flooding,” the service said.

The day is also expected to be humid, with Wednesday being a continuation of Tuesday’s conditions, according to the service.

Here’s what other local meteorologists are saying about the potential storms:

Cindy Fitzgibbon, WCVB: ‘Be weather aware if outdoors later today’

Zack Green, WBZ: ‘These will pop up rather sporadically so we should all be ready after 1pm’

Jason Brewer, Boston 25: ‘On alert for some strong to severe storms developing in the heat this afternoon’

Chris Lambert, 7 News: ‘We’ll watch for damaging wind gusts in the strongest storms’

Kelly Ann Cicalese, WCVB: ‘Impact weather Tuesday in the form of strong thunderstorms, possibly turning severe’
