Here’s what Boston meteorologists are saying about the snow forecast for early Saturday

"Boston snow in April is not unusual."

National Weather Service: ‘Greatest impact after midnight from steady/heavy (snow) & low visibility. Highest accums above 1000′ elev. with slushy roads. Change to rain late Sat AM’

Zack Green, WBZ: ’11 p.m.-midnight: Showers move in. Rain south of Pike. Flakes for higher elevations. 12-6 a.m.: Steady snow (bursts of heavier snow at times) for most. SE MA mainly rain event. Bulk of accum.’

Jeremy Reiner, 7News: ‘Boston Snow in April is not unusual.’

Eric Fisher, WBZ: ‘Best shot at the 4-5″ totals will be higher elevations of Worcester Co., Berkshires, and NE CT. Anything over 3″ can bring down some limbs/trees so we’ll be watching that.’

Cindy Fitzgibbon, WCVB: ‘Rain is going to come in after 8 o’clock and then flip on over to snow — and it may snow hard for a few hours in the overnight.’

Matt Noyes, NBC10 Boston: ‘As with many spring snow events, roads will be too warm for this to stick most of tonight, but by dawn tomorrow some slick spots will develop in areas with greater than 2” of snow. The amounts forecast are expected on grassy and other cold surfaces.’
