Maps: How much snow is forecast to fall in Massachusetts on Wednesday
The National Weather Service is predicting Boston could see 2 inches of accumulation.
Snow is back in the forecast for Massachusetts.The National Weather Service is predicting that after a bout of rainy and mild weather on Monday and Tuesday, the Bay State will see a few inches of accumulating snow on Wednesday. The changeover from rain to snow will occur late Tuesday overnight into Wednesday as temperatures drop.“Will likely see impacts on roadways for the Wednesday morning commute, especially on secondary roads and other untreated surfaces,” service forecasters wrote Monday. “The steady snow will continue through around midday Wednesday before starting to taper off as the [precipitation] shifts offshore during the afternoon.”So far the service is forecasting around 4 or 5 inches of accumulation in central Massachusetts and in the state’s higher elevations, while Boston may see about 2.
Cold and dry temperatures are predicted to move in by Wednesday evening and continue until late Friday when another round of precipitation is in the forecast.
