“Saturday and Sunday will be the major scorchers,” the National Weather Service warned.
Blistering heat is on its way to Massachusetts.The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for much of the state, in effect Friday through Sunday, and cautioned residents to expect “dangerous heat and humidity.” With the forecast hot temperatures and humidity, it will feel in the high 90s and more than 100 degrees for much of the weekend. “Saturday and Sunday will be the major scorchers,” the service said.

Boston officials have declared a heat emergency and announced measures, including free admittance to city pools, to help residents stay cool.
