Here’s how hot it’s supposed to get this weekend

This weekend is predicted to be hot, and, with the humidity, it will feel even hotter, according to the National Weather Service and other local meteorologists.“The combination of heat and humidity are contributing to the heat index values — the real-feel condition that exists,” Benjamin Sipprell, a meteorologist with the service, said.In its seven-day forecast, the service predicts highs of 93 degrees for Friday and Saturday and 92 for Sunday.“The heat and humidity are expected to peak on [Saturday] when heat index values may exceed 105 degrees in some locations,” the service said on Twitter.
The heat index could reach 105 degrees in Boston, and conditions aren’t much cooler along the coast. Newburyport and Gloucester are predicted to reach 104 degrees and 98 degrees, respectively, while towns along Cape Cod are predicted to be in the 90s.“HOT,” was all Terry Eliasen, a WBZ meteorologist, said in a tweet with predictions for weekend highs — 90 degrees on Friday, 99 on Saturday, and 95 on Sunday. His forecast indicates that the average for this time of year is 82 degrees.

Meteorologist David Epstein predicted that there’s a swath of areas that could see temperatures near 100 degrees on Saturday, from Sanford, Maine, to Boston, west to Interstate 495, and down to Providence, Rhode Island, and Hartford, Connecticut.

“Seriously, the weekend looks HOT,” Shiri Spear, a meteorologist with Boston 25 News, said. Her weekend forecast questions if there could be record-setting high temperatures on Saturday.
