Here’s what Boston meteorologists are saying about the weather this week
“We're not likely to set any records this week, but we'll still be close, especially on Wednesday!”
While Monday was predicted to be “warm and comfortable,” much of the week is forecast to bring heat and humidity, according to the National Weather Service.Plus, what’s left of Hurricane Barry could make for some “tropical downpours” later in the week, the service says.A potential heat wave is also on the horizon for Friday through the weekend, according to meteorologist David Epstein.“Enjoy the comfortable humidity tonight & Monday,” the service said on Twitter Sunday evening. “Thereafter it’s a hot & humid stretch of weather with highs in the 90s Tuesday thru Saturday.”Humidity is expected to rise Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures are then forecast to hit 90 on Wednesday with dew points predicted to rise to near 70, “so expect it to be an uncomfortable afternoon,” the service said.Wednesday night through Thursday is when what remains of Barry is predicted to move into Southern New England.“Expect showers and some thunder, along with local downpours with potential for street and poor drainage flooding,” the service said.Friday could include some remaining showers from the storm, but then conditions should dry out, according to the service. The service’s forecast shows sun for the weekend with temperatures reaching the low 90s.

WBZ meteorologist Barry Burbank said Thursday will be “the muggiest” because of what’s left of Hurricane Barry.
“After that, it’s sizzling through the weekend!” he said.

“Hot stuff the next week,” Epstein said, noting that, with temperatures predicted to be at or above 90 degrees Friday through Sunday, there is potential for a heatwave.
