Timing: Here’s when rain is expected to fall in Massachusetts on Thursday
Meteorologists say heavy rain could cause some brief flooding during the day.
Soaking rain is headed to Massachusetts and Southern New England on Thursday. The National Weather Service said the precipitation will begin “creeping in” to the region during the morning and taper off by the late afternoon and evening.“Precipitation to our south early this morning will move into Southern New England during the morning,” forecasters wrote. “Intensity will vary, and while it may not stop completely it will seem more showery. With the amount of moisture that is available, we expect embedded downpours in the precipitation. Best chance for the downpours will be across [Rhode Island] and [southeast] Massachusetts.”According to the service, the moments of heavy rain could cause some brief street flooding.
