Boston could hit 70 degrees on Tuesday, but there are still plenty of chances for dreary, wet weather throughout the week, according to local forecasters.Danielle Niles, a meteorologist with WBZ, predicts a high of 73 degrees for Boston on Tuesday, but with “building clouds” and the possibility of rain showers or a thunderstorm in the afternoon to the evening.

However, meteorologist David Epstein said, “This is a better week.”

“There’s a chance of a quick shower or thunderstorm [Tuesday] afternoon, but on balance the day is generally sunny,” he said. “Rain arrives sometime late Thursday and, Friday looks like the worst day of the week. Hyper-cautiously optimistic about a nice weekend.”

However, temperatures drop to highs of 54 and 51 on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Thursday has an 80% chance of rain while Friday’s is 75%.

Mike Wankum, a meteorologist with WCVB, notes in his seven-day forecast that the normal high for this time of year is 63 degrees. Wankum also predicts a sunny Wednesday with a high of 62 degrees. For Thursday, his forecast shows showers in the evening and rain on Friday. He forecasts a clear Saturday with a high of 64 degrees and a “cooler” Mother’s Day with a high of 58 degrees.
