‘More novelty snow than anything else’: A coastal storm could bring snow to some parts of New England this week
After a cold start, temperatures could head in a positive direction by the end of the week.
Monday may have started off cold, but local forecasters are promising a warmer end to the week, even if a storm could bring a mix of snow in some areas Tuesday night into Wednesday. Tuesday is predicted to have a “cold start,” too, according to Barry Burbank, a meteorologist with WBZ.“We’re watching a strong ocean storm which sideswipes us with some rain & possibly some wet snow at times some spots N&W of Boston,” he said on Twitter.

The storm is predicted to strike Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, Burbank said in a subsequent tweet. He said he “can’t rule out some wet snow mixing at times from the Worcester Hills, NE MA to SE NH & S. ME.”

Offshore, meteorologist David Epstein said the “huge ocean storm will develop Tuesday and then pass out to sea.”
“Hurricane force wind warning posted for the offshore waters!” he said.

NECN meteorologist Michael Page echoed what Burbank said about the possible wet snow for Worcester Hills, New Hampshire, and Maine.
“Still need to sort out some details,” he said Monday.
Terry Eliasen, a meteorologist with WBZ, said the storm could bring “more novelty snow than anything else, not expecting any accumulation.”

Further out, Shiri Spear, a meteorologist with Boston 25 News, said temperatures could hit the 60s and 70s next week.
