Timing: Here’s when it’s forecast to rain in Massachusetts on Friday
“Locally heavy rainfall and a few rumbles of thunder are possible,” the National Weather Service said.
Mild temperatures are in the forecast for Massachusetts on Thursday and Friday, but meteorologists say to expect some wet weather along with the break from the cold. The National Weather Service is predicting rain will arrive in the region Friday with scattered showers possible throughout the day, but then potentially heavier rain could fall along the south coast of Massachusetts during the evening. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 60 degrees during the day.“Locally heavy rainfall and a few rumbles of thunder are possible,” the service said. The meteorologists say the heaviest precipitation will likely occur during the overnight hours.

The mild, wet weather isn’t expected to last for long, though, according to the service.
A cold front moving in will bring the return of cooler than normal temperatures to the region starting Saturday through the middle of next week.
