This time of the year average temperatures are in the lower 40s, and we’re expecting temperatures will stay in the 20s. An arctic front will cross the region on Tuesday night and usher in two days of unseasonably chilly air. Highs both Wednesday and Thursday will not make it out of the mid-20s. The fresh snow cover will keep temperatures down. With clear skies during the overnight hours temperatures will rapidly fall into the single digits and low teens. (Craig F. Winter’s not over quite yet.

Meteorologists say Massachusetts is set to see some snow Sunday morning.

“A burst of snow/sleet overspreads the region between 5 and 9 am [Sunday],” the National Weather Service said Saturday. “Roads may quickly become slippery with 1 to 3 [inches] of snow/sleet anticipated near and northwest of a [Boston] to [Providence] line, followed by a period of light icing. Mainly rain by mid afternoon [Sunday].”
