Here’s the timing of the rain forecast in Massachusetts on Wednesday and Thursday
The National Weather Service is warning heavy downpours could cause some localized flooding.
You’ll want to keep your umbrella close at hand. The National Weather Service is forecasting rain and thunderstorms moving east across Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.“Showers and widely scattered thunderstorms will move into western Massachusetts and north central Connecticut around midday,” the service wrote. “There may be heavy downpours with some of the showers which may cause localized flooding. A few strong thunderstorms are also possible with strong wind gusts.”

The risk for localized flooding will continue on Thursday, particularly in the western and central parts of the state.
Forecasters are predicting the Boston area could see about 1 to 1.5 inches of precipitation.
As for the humidity, the service says it’ll remain as muggy as ever the rest of the week.
“High dew points and oppressive humidity are expected through the remainder of the week,” forecasters wrote.
Some relief from the soggy air will occur this weekend and early next week, according to the service.
