Here’s where and when severe thunderstorms are forecast for Tuesday

Heavy rain and scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to sweep across most of Massachusetts on Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.Meteorologists with the service said that central and western Massachusetts are at the most risk for seeing the severe storms between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m.“Some areas of rain showers will move into the region over the next couple hours, followed by a line of heavy rain and thunderstorms later this evening,” the service said Tuesday morning.

“Primary risks will be localized strong damaging wind gusts, hail, along with heavy rain/poor drainage street flooding,” forecasters said. “Remember to keep an eye to the sky today!”

According to the service’s seven-day forecast for Boston, the city will see showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m.
