Here’s David Epstein’s weekend forecast
This is a big weekend for anyone celebrating Easter or Passover, and the weather should cooperate. This is also the final couple days of March, and it’s a month that will go down in the record books as one of the snowiest on record. Worcester missed its snowiest March by just a little bit, and Boston was in its top five.Friday will be one of those days where you will definitely know spring is at hand. With a little bit of moisture in the air and temperatures approaching 60 in the afternoon, it will actually smell like spring across the region. I can’t rule out a shower or two, but, generally, it’ll be a nice mild day.
The best day will be SaturdayMy pick for the weekend is Saturday because of all the sunshine, no risk of any showers, and temperatures slightly above average, getting into the mid-50s. Winds will be light, and it will be a great afternoon to get outside and do some of that yard cleanup you’ve probably been putting off.
Sunday will still be nice Easter Sunday will dawn with some clouds as well as the risk of an isolated shower, but the day overall will be partly sunny. Temperatures will be a bit cooler than Saturday, reaching the low 50s in the afternoon.Next week looks chillier than the past few days, and I even see the chance for some accumulating snow over Northern New England and even some wet flakes here in Southern New England on Tuesday. Spring arrives in slow fashion in these parts and it’s not unusual to have a setback or two before we get to prolonged warm weather.

A rain and snow mix is likely Tuesday.
Fantastic skiing
This is a good weekend to head to the slopes as there’s often lots of fun activities. Spring skiing is simply amazing. Ski early though because the snow becomes like mashed potatoes in the afternoon this time of year.
