Call it a four’easter.
In an updated forecast Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service said that parts of southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island could see 6 to 8 inches of snow through Thursday morning as the fourth nor’easter of March hits the region. However, most of the Bay State, including Boston, looks like it will be spared from the heaviest snow.
“A coastal storm passing well south of Nantucket will bring snow mainly late today into early Thursday morning with the greatest risk of heavy amounts south of the Massachusetts Turnpike,” forecasters for the service wrote Wednesday afternoon, predicting that the Boston area could see around 4 to 6 inches.
