7 maps predicting how much snow Massachusetts will get on Saturday night
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Southeastern Massachusetts.
It may feel like spring, but snow is on the way.
Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for areas in Massachusetts south of the Mass. Turnpike for a “quick moving storm” arriving in the region Saturday night, with the exception of the Cape, where a Winter Storm Watch remains in place. The NWS also issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Rhode Island and Connecticut, the National Weather Service said Saturday morning on Facebook.
Forecasters said the snow will arrive between 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday, from west to east, with the heaviest snow falling from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sunday, at times falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour south of the Turnpike. The snow is expected to stop between 5 and 7 a.m. Sunday. Boston could see between 4 and 6 inches.
