The most, least, and likeliest snow accumulations for this weekend’s storm
With another storm potentially bringing accumulating snow to the region this weekend, you might want to keep a shovel at the ready.
The National Weather Service is predicting the storm could spread as much as one to two inches in the Greater Boston area and two to six inches to parts of the south coast, Cape Cod, and the islands.
Weather service meteorologist Kim Buttrick said the fast moving “clipper” system will be traveling just south of New England on Saturday and will move northeast on Sunday. Snowfall could begin as early as noon Saturday, but is more likely to start in the evening and continue into Sunday morning, tapering off around noon, she said.
But with the storm still several days away, Buttrick said how much snow falls depends on the storm’s path.
“Things can always change if the system travels a little south,” she said.

Temperatures for the weekend will still be on the cooler side of what’s typical for March, with the Boston area seeing high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s on Saturday and Sunday.
“The normal high for this time of year in Boston is mid-40s,” Buttrick said.
