Slippery roadways still being cleared; more snow is on the way
Workers are still clearing state roadways, even as much of Friday’s snow in the Greater Boston area tapered off during the morning.

The morning’s snowfall prompted public safety agencies to post warnings about slippery roadways and remind drivers to clear vehicles of snow.

National Weather Service meteorologist Alan Dunham said Plymouth and Bristol counties, as well as the Cape Cod and Islands, received higher accumulations of between one and three inches Friday morning. South Boston received an inch and a half, while towns in Middlesex County saw less than in an inch.
And residents of the Greater Boston area should prepare for more of the white stuff to be dumped on the region Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Saturday morning through that night.
The eastern part of the state could see six or more inches of snow, with the bulk of the snowfall occurring during the afternoon, according to National Weather Service meteorologist William Babcock.
