Highs expected in 30s in Boston, with freezing later
The Boston area had more than an inch of snow on the ground by 9 a.m. Saturday with about 5 inches expected before the snowfall turns to rain in the early afternoon, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Eleanor Vallier-Talbot.
The snow is expected to continue until around 1 or 2 p.m., when temperatures will start to rise above freezing and the snow will turn to rain, bringing a chance of freezing rain and sleet mixed in briefly, Vallier-Talbot said.
