Here’s what to expect from Friday’s weather forecast

Most of the action will take place in northwest Massachusetts.

Greater Boston is looking at an overcast — but otherwise uneventful — end to the workweek, with temperatures in the high 40s. But if you’re out in western Massachusetts, look out for slippery roads, especially north of Route 2. A bout of light freezing rain that moved in Thursday night will continue until about 9 a.m. Friday. After that, rising temperatures will convert the precipitation to regular rain. Any lingering showers will stop by early evening, leaving mostly clear conditions for Friday night.
