Here’s what to expect from Tuesday’s weather forecast
Snow, then rain, and then more snow.
Tread carefully during your Tuesday morning commute. A stormy mix of accumulating ice and snow that began creeping into the region late Monday night will continue for the first part of the day, ramping up to steady, moderate, or heavy snowfall between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. along and south of the Massachusetts Turnpike. Those heading out to work should plan on slick and snow-covered roads as well as the potential for low visibility. With Tuesday’s temperatures peaking in the high 30s, precipitation in the Boston area may switch over to rain by mid-morning into the afternoon.
Temperatures will tumble late in the day, making snow and sleet possible during the evening commute. The storm system moves out of New England overnight, ushering in mostly clear or partly cloudy skies, increasing winds, and colder temperatures by morning.
