Here’s what to expect from Friday’s weather forecast

A dusting of snow ends the workweek.

Light flakes fly at Columbia Road and Blue Hill Avenue on Dec. 1.

Friday begins with a simple, cloudy morning and temperatures hitting a maximum 40 degrees. By late afternoon however, bursts of light snow will move through the region until around 10 p.m. Those south of the Massachusetts Turnpike will likely only see flakes accumulating on grassy surfaces, while those north of the highway could see an inch of snow. Low levels aside, drivers should watch out for slippery surfaces during the evening commute. Cooler air and gradually clearing skies make an appearance overnight.
