While an oncoming ocean storm may be south of New England, its effects will certainly be felt here. Coupled with strong high pressure north of the region, Thursday’s weather includes a long bout of heavy rainfall and potentially damaging winds. An anticipated one to two inches of rain will fall across Southeastern Massachusetts, and the mid-morning and afternoon hours may be met with flooding. Simultaneously, you’ll see sustained winds between 30 and 40 miles per hour, with gusts reaching between 50 and 55 miles per hour. The National Weather Service has issued flood and wind warnings, including a flood watch and wind advisory for the Boston area.
