Low pressure will arrive in New England on Tuesday, and bring humid conditions, showers, and perhaps a thunderstorm or two along with it. According to the National Weather Service, rainfall will begin in the morning and spread east, but become concentrated near or just south of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island coasts. An estimated 0.5 to 0.75 inches of rain are expected along and north of the Massachusetts Pike, while 1.2 to 1.8 inches are expected for Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeastern Massachusetts. Some strong thunderstorms may hit on Tuesday evening, particularly on Rhode Island’s immediate coast, Massachusetts’s south coast, Cape Cod, and the Islands. However, the precipitation will wind down at night.
